AmeriKiwi started with a familiar frustration: finding exactly what you want on a US website, getting all the way to checkout, and being told they don’t ship to New Zealand.
There are workarounds. Freight forwarders will rent you a US address. Reshippers will take a parcel you’ve already managed to buy. But none of them will do the part that actually stops people: placing the order when the retailer rejects your card, your address and your phone number.
So that’s what we do. You send us the link. We check whether it can legally and practically come into New Zealand, price the whole job honestly, buy it with our US card, receive it at our US address, check it’s right, repack it, fly it over and hand it to a courier.
We’re deliberately small right now — our first few dozen customers get a real person who knows their order by name. That’s the point.
What we won’t pretend to be
We are not a customs broker, a freight company or a law firm. We don’t give import, tax or legal advice, and no piece of software we run approves an import. What we do is check carefully, tell you honestly what we think, and decline the things we shouldn’t touch.
Duty and GST are set by NZ Customs. Freight is priced by carriers. We show you both, clearly labelled, and we don’t mark either of them up.
