What we can ship
We’d rather say no early than take your money.
New Zealand has some of the strictest border rules in the world, and air freight adds its own. Here’s an honest map of what we can take on today.
Generally proceeds to review
These usually get a quick yes — but a person still checks every one.
Always manual review
We'll look at these carefully and come back to you either way.
Not accepted
Excluded from our service during the MVP. No exceptions, sorry.
Clothing
US-only ranges, sizes that never make it here, brands with no NZ store.
Footwear
Sneakers, boots, wide/narrow fittings that Kiwi retailers don't stock.
Books & print
First editions, signed copies, out-of-print titles, US-only releases.
Collectibles
Trading cards, figures, memorabilia and limited drops.
Hobby & craft
Model kits, quilting and craft supplies, sports gear, instrument parts.
Toys (no batteries)
Non-powered toys and games. Anything with a battery goes to review.
Household goods
Ordinary homeware, kitchen items, bedding, storage and decor.
Replacement parts
Uncomplicated spare parts — trim, brackets, fittings, mechanical bits.
Electronics
Possible, but always reviewed by a person — plugs, voltage and compliance.
Anything with a battery
Lithium cells are restricted in air freight. We check every time.
Cosmetics & skincare
Reviewed individually — ingredients and labelling rules vary.
Something else
Not sure where it fits? Send it through and we'll tell you honestly.
Manual review isn’t a polite no — plenty of these get approved. It means a person looks properly before we quote.

Things we can't take on, full stop
Some of these are illegal to import without a licence we don't hold. Others simply can't fly. Either way, submitting one won't get it through.

Our software screens. Our people decide.
When you submit a request, an automated check looks for restricted-category signals and routes it to the right queue. That check is triage, nothing more — no software at AmeriKiwi approves an import. A person reviews every request, and their decision is the one that counts. We are not a customs broker and we don’t give import advice; if your item needs a permit or a formal ruling, you’ll need a licensed broker.

Send it through anyway. A no costs you nothing, and we’ll tell you why.
